Reader offers a recipe for Spoon Burgers

The Exchange has been busy in recent weeks helping readers find lost recipes.

Mickey Turner of Graham helped out Wanda Lloyd of Elon last week by sending in a recipe for Dreamsicle Cake. (Additional recipes for Dreamsicle cake were received this week, but all were similar to the ones published last week.) Turner then asked other readers for help in finding a recipe for Spoon Burgers.

Turner described Spoon Burgers as something similar to Sloppy Joes, only he recalled using milk in the recipe.

Edna Porterfield of Graham sent in a Spoon Burgers recipe, but it doesn't call for milk.

"It was given to us by a friend," she said. "We have really enjoyed it down through the years." In the meantime, Marie Grinstead of Graham called and asked for a Raisin Sauce recipe that can be used on candied yams. If you have a recipe you'd like to share, send it in, and we'll try to publish it.

Please include your name and a contact number in the event we have questions.

Enjoy this recipe!
